Training and Development
In accordance with the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control on COVID-19 best practices, TGH is committed to keeping all its team members safe. As a result, Day One of New Team Member Orientation (NTMO) introduces our newest team members to the vibrant, patient-centered culture of Tampa General Hospital via an online experience. The intent of Day One of NTMO is for our new team members to learn who we are as an organization, our culture, and strategies for success.
New team members begin the iron-boarding activities in an onsite, socially-distanced environment to receive their Welcome bags and badges. Team members are then escorted to their specific units/teams to meet their co-workers and begin their online learning experience. Topics in the e-learning environment include a Welcome message from our President & CEO, John Couris, with an explanation of the organization's shared purpose, vision, values, achievements, current projects, and team member engagement. New team members then fully engage in the exploration of Tampa General Hospital's Vision: We Heal. We Teach. We Innovate. Care for Everyone, Every day, as well as the supporting values of integrity, compassion, accountability, excellence, and courage.
In addition, new team members learn key Human Resources' policies & procedures, Information Technology access information (login information, the TGH Portal, MindLab, etc.), and general hospital information. The specific content is created for our newest team members to learn best practices in communication, customer service, patient satisfaction and hand-hygiene with the intent of providing a safe, world-class experience for our patients, guests, visitors, and partners.
