About Qualenta Kivett, JD


Qualenta Kivett, JD, is the Executive Vice President and Chief People and Talent Officer of Tampa General Hospital, a nationally renowned non-profit academic health system.

 

Kivett is responsible for leading Tampa General Hospital’s People and Talent division with a focus on the voice of team members and an evidence-based strategy to provide support and enhance engagement.

 

Prior to joining Tampa General, Kivett served as Market Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer for CHI St. Vincent, a regional health network in Arkansas. Kivett previously worked at Medical University South Carolina as an Associate Chief People Officer.

 

In addition to her work at TGH, Kivett serves as an Alumni Board Member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and serves on the boards of the Fe league Tampa and Hillsborough Community College Foundation.

 

Kivett was honored as one of Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2025 BusinessWoman of the Year. Kivett has also been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review, one of the health care industry’s leading national trade publications, as one of their “CHROs and Chief People Officers to Know” for 2024 and 2025. She has also been named to the publication’s 2024 list of “231+ Black Healthcare Leaders to Know,” which spotlights Black health care leaders who are helping to shape the health care industry.

 

Kivett earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock-William H. Bowen School of Law after receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
