Second Allia Moveo installation in the Tampa Medical & Research District extends the technology from simulation-based training to a clinical care setting in the region
TAMPA, FL (Nov. 4, 2026) – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) today announced the installation of GE HealthCare’s Allia™ Moveo next-generation, image-guided therapy (IGT) solution into a clinical hybrid operating room at its hospital, part of the Tampa Medical & Research District (TMRD).
This is the second Allia Moveo system installed within the Tampa Medical & Research District. Earlier this year, the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) became the first simulation center in the world to integrate Allia Moveo into its advanced education and simulation programs. This latest installation creates a direct connection between advanced simulation-based training and patient care.
“This is a powerful example of how the Tampa Medical & Research District connects education, innovation and care in ways that can make a meaningful difference for our patients,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General. “Bringing this technology to Tampa General Hospital builds on that foundation and supports clinicians as they translate training into care for patients.”
Allia Moveo is a next-generation image-guided therapy solution designed to support minimally invasive procedures through mobility, workflow efficiency and image quality. The system features a slim, compact and cable-free C-arm intended to enable movement and unobstructed patient access. Its wide-bore design supports Cone Beam CT imaging, including with patients’ arms positioned down, while AI-powered workflow tools are designed to streamline procedures and help clinicians deliver more personalized patient experiences.
This latest installation builds on the longstanding relationship between Tampa General Hospital and GE HealthCare and their shared commitment to investing in advanced technologies that support clinicians in delivering high-quality, innovative care for patients and the communities they serve.
