TGH Cancer Institute | Cancer Center of South Florida (CCSF) strengthens its oncology services in Palm Beach County with the addition of Dr. Sanjay Awasthi, a nationally recognized medical oncologist and melanoma specialist.
With more than 40 years of experience spanning clinical care, cancer research and academic medicine, Awasthi brings deep expertise and a patient-centered approach to individuals facing complex cancer diagnoses across the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast.
Nationally Recognized Expertise in Melanoma and Complex Cancers
Awasthi is a board-certified physician-scientist specializing in melanoma, as well as breast, ovarian and rare hereditary cancers. His career has been defined by the integration of innovative research and personalized patient care, helping advance the understanding of cancer development and treatment resistance.
He previously led melanoma research at the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope, where he continued National Institutes of Health-funded research exploring the connections between cancer, metabolic disorders and chronic disease.
Throughout his career, Awasthi has held clinical and academic roles at leading institutions, including UT Health, Texas Tech Health Science Center, the University of North Texas, Texas Oncology and City of Hope.
