Beloved Tampa deli’s first satellite location will feature extended daily hours, an all-day espresso bar and grab-and-go convenience for patients, families, visitors and team members.
Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2026) – Tampa General Hospital (TGH) celebrates the formal opening and ribbon cutting of Wright’s Gourmet House on the Davis Islands campus. The first‑ever satellite location for Wright’s brings the iconic Tampa bakery and deli’s signature sandwiches, salads and desserts into the heart of TGH, enhancing the daily experience for patients, visitors and team members.
Located in the 2,900‑square‑foot space formerly home to McDonald’s at the first‑floor East Pavilion entrance, Wright’s is conveniently located just outside of the team member entrance and near the pharmacy and Starbucks — offering a convenient, central location for quick visits and longer breaks alike.
Leaders from both organizations cut the ceremonial ribbon at the new Wright’s café and deli at TGH February 6, 2026, at the East Pavilion entrance, marking an exciting addition to the Tampa General Hospital campus. The café will welcome guests daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering early-morning favorites such as breakfast sandwiches on English muffins or Cuban toast, hearty egg scrambles, fresh fruit cups and cinnamon rolls available until 10:30 a.m. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy an elevated coffee experience featuring Buddy Brew espresso, cold brew, and freshly brewed coffee, complemented by local favorites including mouthwatering sandwiches, gourmet salads and decadent desserts along with a thoughtful selection of grab-and-go items designed for convenience.
“Wright’s is not just another dining option — it’s a beloved community institution that elevates the daily experience for our patients, visitors and team members,” said Donna Tope, Vice President of Operations at Tampa General Hospital. “We’re thrilled to welcome Wright’s to the campus as part of our commitment to quality, consistency and whole‑person care.”
The opening also represents a homecoming: Marjorie Wright, Wright’s founder, previously served as Director of Admissions at Tampa General — a role centered on exceptional patient experience that shaped Wright’s philosophy from its earliest days. “Bringing Wright’s to Tampa General continues Marjorie’s legacy of joyful generosity and community,” said Rudy Garcia, President of Caspers Company, Wright’s parent organization. “We’re honored to share Wright’s comfort and care – a fixture in Tampa Bay since 1963 - with patients, families and caregivers at TGH.”
To further celebrate the opening and acknowledge Wright’s remarkable legacy, Tampa General Hospital has installed a dedication plaque in the healing garden next to the Wright’s Gourmet House storefront. The plaque honors Marjorie Wright whose passion for enriching the patient experience extended beyond daily operations. During her tenure, Marjorie founded a hospital theater troupe, bringing storytelling, performance and human connection to patients and families. This early commitment to creating moments of comfort inside the hospital mirrors the spirit she later infused into Wright’s Gourmet House — a place known for warmth, joy and community.
The new Wright’s café and deli at TGH is accessible to the general public through the main security and visitor entrance. Just outside the storefront, team members, patients and visitors alike will find casual seating designed for easy breaks, quick meals and informal gatherings creating a comfortable space for the hospital community and visitors alike.
