I have a condition I would like medical advice for. Can you provide advice via e-mail?

Tampa General Hospital cannot offer medical advice via e-mail. We encourage you to discuss any medical concerns with your primary care physician. If you would like a referral to a physician, please call 1-800-822-3627 or click here to access Physician Finder. 

How can I find a doctor?

Our PhysicianFinder referral service provides a database of all physicians currently on staff with Tampa General Hospital. Click here to access Physician Finder. 

How can I request copies of, or amendments to, my medical record?

Due to privacy practices, medical records cannot be requested online. To request copies of your medical record, you must complete and submit the Authorization to Disclose Health Information form to the TGH Health Information Management department. This form, and additional information about how to request copies of your medical record can be found by visiting our Medical Records page. You may also call the Release of Information Office at (813) 844-7533.

To request amendments to your medical record, you must complete and submit the Request for Amendment/Correction of Health Information form. This form can be found on our Medical Records page. You may also call the Health Information Management department at (813) 844-7525 to discuss amendments to your medical record.

How can I obtain a birth or death certificate?

Tampa General Hospital does not provide copies of birth or death certificates. Please contact the Florida Department of Health and Human Services’ Vital Statistics department to obtain birth and death certificates. You may also call them at (904) 359-6900.

How can I find out how much it will cost for services at Tampa General Hospital?

For estimates of costs for services at Tampa General Hospital, or information about discounted care, please contact our Patient Financial Assistance department at (813) 844-8084, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or e-mail patientfinancialassistance@tgh.org.

How can I get answers to questions about my bill?

For questions about your hospital bill, please e-mail mybill@tgh.org or call Patient Financial Services at (813) 844-7291, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. MyChart users can also submit billing questions via their MyChart account by clicking 'Billing' and then 'See Account Detail' where users will see an option to send a customer service request). If you do not have a MyChart account, click here to request an activation code and get started.

How can I submit a compliment?

Tampa General Hospital appreciates your feedback. If you would like to submit a compliment, our Patient and Family Engagement Department will ensure it is shared with the appropriate members of the team. How can I submit a complaint?

TGH would like to address your concerns. We are committed to ensuring that every individual who comes to us for assistance during their time of need receives the highest level of care in a compassionate and supportive environment. Please e-mail Patient Relations at patientrelations@tgh.org or call (813) 844-7249. We will follow up on your matter thoroughly.

The Patient Relations office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed during the holidays and on weekends. If your situation is emergent and you have reached out to us during non-business hours, please call (813) 844-7000 and ask for the Nursing Supervisor. If your matter is not emergent, our team will be in touch with you within one business day.

We can assure you that your concerns will be taken seriously and we will address them in the appropriate manner.

How can I find out if someone I know is a patient at Tampa General Hospital?

Tampa General Hospital cannot provide patient information online. To inquire about a patient at TGH, please call our Patient Information line at (813) 844-7443.

How can I get technical support for my MyChart account?

For questions about your MyChart account, please contact our Technology Support Center at (813) 844-7490 or via e-mail at helpdesk@tgh.org. A ticket will be assigned to your submission within 72 hours.

I am a medical student. Whom should I contact regarding elective rotations, internships and other academic activities?

Medical students interested in elective rotations, internships and other academic activities should contact the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine at (813) 974-2229 or visit www.health.usf.edu/medicine.

Where can I find career opportunities at TGH?

Those interested in applying for jobs should visit our Careers section to search jobs and apply online. For questions regarding application status, please call our Human Resources department at (813) 844-7551 or via e-mail at JoinOurTeam@TGH.org. Those interested in nursing careers at TGH should search our open positions and apply online.

Application Process

To apply to become a TGH Volunteer, please complete the following:

Step 1: Complete the online TGH Volunteer Application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Step 2: Download the reference form and have the person providing the recommendation send it directly to volunteer@tgh.org. Please note that references cannot be from friends or family.

Once all materials are received (application and one reference form) they will be reviewed on the first Monday of every month. After the review is complete, applicants will receive an email notification of their status within 7-10 business days.

Due to the high volume of volunteer applicants, we are unable to accept every applicant and are only recruiting for areas listed on the online application. If you have any questions, please email volunteer@tgh.org.
