Tampa General Hospital is a nonprofit academic health system with a proud history of providing world-class care to uninsured and underinsured patients as the region’s leading safety net hospital, meaning that our programs and services are available to more than four million residents of our 12-county region who need us, regardless of ability to pay. The Community Benefit Report is an in-depth look at the variety of ways TGH serves the community and contributes to Tampa Bay’s economic engine. In fiscal year 2022, Tampa General provided a net community benefit worth more than $240 million, accounting for 33% of health charity costs in Hillsborough County and 16% across the Tampa Bay area.
