Tampa General Hospital’s Outpatient Rehabilitation programs offer world class therapy services to help patients return to the highest level of function possible following an injury, surgery or while living with a disabling health condition. Therapy may also include patient and family education on the management of any limited function, and providing resources for community programs to assist in maintaining the functional gains from therapy. Tampa General Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation programs are accredited by the Joint Commission. We are also designated as a State of Florida Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Center for both adult and pediatric patients.
Physical therapy at TGH consists of specific exercises and modalities to help maximize functional abilities and mobility and increase independence in the home and community.
Occupational therapy at TGH addresses activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, eating and homemaking skills.
Speech therapy at TGH utilizes skilled speech-language pathologists to address cognition, communication, and swallowing.
Biofeedback therapy at TGH uses computerized equipment to help you become more aware of certain physical changes in your body and teaches you how to self-regulate them. This therapy type is beneficial for patients suffering from headaches, hypertension, stress and anxiety, and chronic pain conditions.
