TGH Children’s Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and rehabilitative services for infants, children and adolescents. As the primary teaching hospital for the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, our medical staff is comprised of pediatric specialists and subspecialists available in only a few hospitals statewide.
Tampa General Hospital and USF Health partnered with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg to expand pediatric general surgery services at Tampa General’s Children’s Hospital. This collaboration provides increased access to pediatric general surgery interventions for patients and their families.
In addition to having one of just three dialysis units in the state, our wide range of highly specialized pediatric services includes acute rehabilitation, burn care, oncology, neurology, metabolic and subspeciality care, kidney transplant, orthopedics and emergency and trauma care.
We offer an integrated approach to care that addresses children’s psychological, social and developmental needs in addition to medical treatment. Team members include pediatricians, pediatric specialists, pediatric surgeons, neonatal and pediatric advanced registered nurse practitioners, child life specialists, pharmacists and pediatric respiratory, speech, physical, and occupational therapists. Our Pediatric Day Hospital provides patients with a child-friendly environment and support services for procedures or radiology studies that may require sedation. Anesthesia is provided under the supervision of a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist.
