Tampa General Hospital’s nationally validated, Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program provides full support for candidates’ transition to practice and is required of all graduate nurses and registered nurses who have less than one year of experience in an acute-care hospital. 

During the course of this three-month program, participants will learn the fundamentals of how to excel as an emergency department nurse in an environment that embraces compassion and integrity. This program provides a solid foundation and encourages strong nurses who will become leaders in the department.There will be opportunities to shadow specialists in pediatric emergency room operations, triage and trauma/resuscitation. 

Similar to the Critical Care Rotation Program, TGH’s Acute Care Rotation Program provides registered nurses with a yearlong look at a wide variety of careers and gain valuable firsthand experience, with an extensive orientation period and the full support of a program manager. Candidates are not required to have any previous acute care experience. 

Tampa General Hospital’s Critical Care Rotation Program (CCRP) introduces registered nurses to the full spectrum of skills-based critical care experiences, allowing them to find the right fit for their intended career path. 

Tampa General Hospital’s Perioperative Transition Program is a 20-week, blended learning program that provides the skills and knowledge for working as a nurse in an operating room.
