  • Creativity for the Mind - The Arts and Mindfulness: Combining the awareness of art making and mindfulness practices, we will explore how to refocus the mind, relax the body, and reconnect with ourselves and others. Stress is hard on the mind and body, and it often is difficult to stop in the middle of a busy day. We will discuss how to recognize the fight or flight stress response in the body and how to reverse it quickly and effectively, wherever, whenever it is needed. No need to have a perfect, quiet environment! Using writing practices, visual arts practices, music selection and music making (singing and drumming), this session will help participants discover a self-care practice for greater resilience.
  • Finding Your Voice/ Singing for Stress Relief: Do you know what it feels like to speak and sing with comfort? This singing session is unlike any other. We will explore the Zen of singing. We will discover how to tap into our individual tone, how to strengthen the lungs and diaphragm, how to speak and sing with comfort, and how to use singing as a form of meditation and relaxation for the mind and the body. No experience is necessary.
  • Guided Meditation: Meditation has been proven to ease anxiety and depression, bolster self-confidence, reduce stress and inflammation, and improve sleep and brain health. Many people feel that they "can't meditate," but this workshop will help build on a variety of meditation techniques to help inform how meditation can be for everyone. No experience is necessary.
  • Mind & Body in Relation to Emotional and Physical Health: Using a variety of creative Integrative Medicine practices, we will explore how to refocus the mind, relax the body, and reconnect with ourselves and others. We will discuss how to recognize the fight or flight stress response in the body and how to reverse it quickly and effectively.   • Music for the Mind: Music as Meditation: Singing and drumming are the oldest human forms of music-making. Participants will reflect on how to choose music and how to engage with music, using the voice and rhythm, as a form of self-care. We will discuss how to be aware of sound in our environment and how the brain and body reacts to sound, potentially sending us into the fight or flight response. Contrastingly, singing and drumming are practices that put us into a flow state. We will discuss the benefits of singing and drumming on the brain and body, as well as how to use them both as forms of meditation and relaxation. No experience is necessary.

  • Home Office Ergonomics: Apply basic computer ergonomics to the home environment with low tech and affordable solutions that are easy to implement. Led by a physical or occupational therapist.
  • Introduction to Strong Posture® Exercises: In this group session, participants will understand how proper posture can decrease pain and promote wellness. Learn simple routines to improve your breathing, balance, alignment, and movement. StrongPosture® resources will also be provided, including steps to self-assess posture and track progress.
  • Office Ergonomics in 4 Simple Steps: Apply 4 simple steps to your work or home office to promote healthy office ergonomics. Learn how to achieve proper sitting posture, adjust your equipment, and use low tech solutions affordable solutions may, as well as how low tech and affordable solution are east to implement. Ergonomic equipment frequently recommended will also be reviewed.
Injury Prevention
  • Back Health Education: Back Health Education is a group session to learn about the causes of back pain and ways to modify everyday activities to help prevent back pain. Led by a physical or occupational therapist.
  • Body Mechanics to Lift, Reach & Move Well: Back and neck pain are extremely common, affecting about 80% of the population at some point in their lives. Understanding your posture, spinal health, and ways to modify everyday activities can prevent and/or decrease the severity of these incidences. Join this session to learn how small changes can make a big difference!
  • Early Treatment of Common Aches & Pains: Review the underlying causes and symptoms of several cumulative strain disorders to promote a quick recovery. Learn simple strategies to decrease strain, as well as basic treatments you can use immediately at home, such as best use of heat, ice and massage. Led by a physical or occupational therapist. This workshop is customizable according to the employee’s job tasks.
  • Prehab for Injury Prevention: Techniques used by therapists to treat injuries can easily be implemented early. Learn a few simple exercises to counteract common problems and receive tips on the best use of heat, ice, and massage. Led by a physical or occupational therapist.
  • Pre-shift Stretching Training: Learn the basic principles of stretching and the advantages of stretching before you begin your work shift. This is an interactive class led by a Physical or Occupational therapist to learn stretches specific to the employee's job tasks to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. Recommend identifying leaders within the organization ahead of time who will lead the stretching program at the beginning of the work shift.
  • Prevention for Lower Extremity Repetitive Trauma Disorders: Review of lower body mechanics, along with how daily habits or strains may result in pain. Review typical postural imbalances and general strategies to decrease risk of back or lower body pain.
  • Prevention for Upper Extremity Repetitive Trauma Disorders: Review upper body mechanics and how daily habits or strains may result in pain. Learn typical postural imbalances and general strategies to decrease the risk of upper body pain.
  • Safe Lifting and Back Safety: Learn body mechanics principles and safe lifting techniques to maximize back health. This is an interactive class led by a Physical or Occupational therapist where participants will learn back facts, neutral spine positioning and how to safely lift.
  • Safe Lifting for Healthcare Workers: Learn proper body mechanics for various tasks such as repositioning in bed as well as transfers in/out of bed. Best practices will be reviewed regarding when it is indicated to utilize patient lift equipment. If facility has equipment, this can be included in the training class.
  • Stretching to Prevent Cumulative Strain: Learn the basic principles and advantages of regular stretching. This is an interactive class led by a Physical or Occupational therapist. The exercises will be chosen according to the employee's job tasks, to decrease the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Workday Warmup: Many research studies have shown that stretching and physical activity is an effective way to prevent physical injury. Making time for physical activity and stretching throughout your workday will leave you feeling refreshed, increase your flexibility and reduce your chances of injury.
Safety Trainings
  • Active Shooter Training: The TGH security experts will provide an overview responding to an active shooter. They will review the environment components in your office and create an action plan to promote a safe outcome.
  • Self Defense: Attend this session to learn basic and advanced self-defense techniques. With the varied drills and scenarios used in this session, your self-confidence and self-defense skills will elevate. All ages and abilities are welcomed.
  • Women's Self-Defense: Basic and Advanced Hands On Skills: Learn to use some common items for self-defense: a flat shoe, stiletto, cell phone, and credit card. Attend this workshop and find out why you should fight with your wallet and not your purse.

Biometric Screenings

Body Composition Assessments

What does the number on the scale really mean? In regard to overall health, weight is not nearly as important as the composition of that weight. A body composition within the recommended range suggests you have less risk of developing obesity-related diseases. With the body composition assessment, you will learn your: Body Fat %, Muscle Mass, Fat Free Mass, Total Body Water, Basal Metabolic Rate, Metabolic Age, Visceral Fat Rating.

Blood Pressure Screening

The OneTGH blood pressure screening service will help identify if your team member is at risk for hypertension. You have the option of selecting one or two nurses to accommodate your event. The nurse will check your team member's blood pressure and provide their results on an overview form with reference values. They will receive educational materials to support the reduction of high blood pressure if applicable.

Heart Screening

Tgh Heart & Vascular Institute, in partnership with AngioScreen®, is offering on-site heart screening for employees at their job sites. Our goal is to provide your workplace with an increased knowledge and awareness of the risk for heart disease and stroke through preventive vascular screening. AngioScreen® is a screening used in detecting vascular disease, the leading cause of heart attacks and strokes! The testing is mobile, non-invasive, and involves no radiation and no needles.

Colorectal Cancer Program

Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths but when caught in early stages, colon cancer is more treatable in about 90% of people. OneTGH Employer Solutions Colorectal Cancer Screening Program offers in-home Cologuard screening tests to help your employees get screened regularly. Our Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Providers will work with employees to identify risk for colon cancer and refer to diagnostic testing as needed. Together, our program goal is to help increase the chances of finding, treating, and potentially surviving colon cancer.

Sleep Apnea Screening

Utilize our current employee health screening tool to identify those at high risk for sleep apnea. Once the screening tool identifies those at high risk for sleep apnea, the employee will then be offered a Home Sleep Test that will be used overnight to diagnose sleep apnea. Care navigation is then provided for the employee to follow up with TGH/USF Sleep Clinic or their PCP.

Mammogram Screening

OneTGH offers a mammo program for your employees! Your employees will have their 3-D mammography screening at TGH Imaging and follow up care may be provided as needed to a PCP or an oncologist. Ergonomic Assessments
Performed by a certified ergonomic assessment specialist for a job-site or individual. They may also be completed remotely. Ergonomic assessments are completed to promote healthy work positions, minimize discomfort and improve productivity. Education on proper ergonomics, equipment adjustments and work habits. Products may be recommended in order to achieve their ergonomic goals and ordering information will be provided to the employer. A follow up appointment is recommended if new equipment is purchased to assure proper use. TGH Mobile Care To You provides a fully equipped first aid onsite station staffed with a team of medical professionals.
