As Tampa Bay's first and only Level I Trauma Center, Tampa General Hospital is equipped to care for the most critically ill and injured adult and pediatric patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. TGH has dedicated resources including trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, and other surgical and non-surgical specialists, medical personnel, equipment, and facilities to treat the severely injured.

TGH Aeromed offers 24/7 air and ground critical care transport across Florida, providing CAMTS-accredited services, including specialty and neonatal care.

Florida Poison Information Center – Tampa is staffed by nurses, pharmacists, and physicians trained in toxicology. Based on years of toxicology experience and a computerized database describing over 500,000 substances, they provide free confidential 24-hour emergency advice in cases of exposure to poison for over 40,000 poisonings per year. 

The TGH Transfer Center is staffed 24 hours a day. To transfer a patient from another facility, call 1-800-247-4472. The sending facility will be asked to provide the following information: patient name, address, social security number, home phone, date of birth, diagnosis, name of referring facility, name of physician and reason for transfer.

Coping with a new or chronic medical condition can be challenging. As part of the multidisciplinary medical team, psychologists and neuropsychologists work with individuals and their caregivers to promote recovery and improve quality of life. We also provide evaluation, education, and coping strategies to help with understanding medical treatment.
