April 13, 2011 (Tampa, FL) -Tampa General Hospital recently received the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. It recognizes TGH's commitment and success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients, according to evidence-based treatment guidelines. Get With the Guidelines® is a program that helps hospitals consistently apply the most recent American Heart Association and American Stroke Association guidelines for treating patients. This is the seventh consecutive year TGH has received the highest stroke performance award available from the program. The award was presented to TGH’s Stroke program representatives at the International Stroke Conference in Los Angeles, Calif. in February.
