Tampa General Hospital is one of only three academic centers in the region to offer comprehensive head and neck oncologic care. Collaboration between our specialized otolaryngologists (ENTs) and neurosurgeons allows us to provide world-class care for both benign and malignant tumors of the skull base.

Our institute also offers diagnosis and treatment to patients with cancers throughout the head and neck region, including the oral cavity, larynx, advanced skin, sinus, salivary gland, HPV-related cancers, as well as thyroid and parathyroid tumors. Tampa General is among a few programs to feature ENTs with fellowship training in head and neck cancer, allowing us to perform the most complex surgical procedures on the most challenging patients in the region.

At the cutaneous oncology program at Tampa General Hospital’s Cancer Institute, our experts diagnose and treat skin cancer—even incredibly complex cases—with compassion and skill. Tampa General Hospital’s Hematology Malignancies Program provides diagnostic services and treatment options for patients for all kinds of blood disorders, both cancerous and benign. Our interdisciplinary staff includes physicians from TGMG and USF Health specializing in hematology, as well as registered nurses, medical assistants, and radiation oncologists who can assist in cases of malignant disease. Each patient’s needs are assessed on an individual basis before our team tailors a treatment plan to fit his or her precise situation.

At Tampa General Hospital, we provide comprehensive treatment for all types of cancers that affect the digestive system and have a colorectal oncology program that specializes in treating colon and rectum cancer. 

Our board-certified surgeons have been at the forefront of colorectal cancer treatments and screening for nearly two decades. As innovative pioneers, we remove more rectal tumors through transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) than any other hospital in West Central Florida. These procedures provide patients with an early return to a productive life. As a result, Tampa General offers patients faster recovery times and significantly better outcomes than national averages.
