Tampa, (May 20, 2010) - Over 120 community leaders, school administrators, government officials, sponsors and past and present MORE HEALTH instructors attended the 20th Anniversary Breakfast of MORE HEALTH on May 20th at the Junior League headquarters on Davis Islands in Tampa.  Since it's inception in 1989, MORE HEALTH has taught high-energy, hands-on health education and injury prevention lessons to over two million students, K-12 in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. The lessons are completely funded by private sponsors, with Tampa General Hospital serving as it's primary sponsor, along with many other community partners.  The lessons are requested by classroom teachers and are offered free of charge. MORE HEALTH has been a model for other programs throughout the state and nationally.  Executive Director Karen Pesce was named national Health Educator of the Year by the NAHEC in 2007 and was The Governor's Point of Light recipient in 2009.
