A Change of Plans

It's not the wedding day Brittney and Paul expected, but when Brittney was admitted for emergency surgery, the ICU team stepped up. They decorated and requested the TGH chaplain marry them an hour before her surgery. We wish them a happy and healthy marriage.

A First in Florida

TGH is committed to becoming the safest and most innovative hospital in the country. Our Heart & Vascular Institute became the first in Florida to perform TricValve, a minimally invasive procedure to replace a tricuspid valve in the heart.

What Are the Chances?

We love all of our TGH babies, but there was something magical that took place back in February. Two sets of twins were born on "Twosday" 2/22/22.

New TGH Rehabilitation Hospital

Earlier this year, Tampa General opened our new rehab hospital. This shows our commitment to our community and the expansion of the Tampa Medical and Research District.

Dedication to Our Community

These are the faces of our incredible, selfless team members who came to the hospital during Hurricane Ian not knowing when they'd return home. We are so grateful for their dedication to our community.

10,000 Robotic Surgeries

Tampa General hit an incredible milestone back in October when we performed our 10,000th robotic surgery. This shows the exceptional expertise of our surgeons who regularly perform these minimally invasive procedures.

The Nutcracker, LIVE!

Thank you to the Brandon Ballet for bringing some extra holiday spirit to the Children's Hospital. This was a special treat for our young patients, their families, and our team members.

Tampa Bay Heart Walk

Tampa General Hospital President & CEO, John Couris, was proud to lead this year's Heart Walk. TGH team members raised over $140,000 and showed up strong among the 20,000 community members.

7,500 Kidney Transplants

After performing our first kidney transplant nearly 50 years ago, Tampa General has become a leader in kidney transplants and has now performed its 7,500th.

Life-Changing Treatment for Tremors

Earlier this year, Tampa General became the first on the West Coast of Florida to offer focused ultrasound for essential tremor. This is a life-changing, minimally invasive procedure.
