About TGH Advanced Kidney Care

Enhancing the expert services delivered for decades to patients in Palm Beach and Martin counties, in 2022 Advanced Kidney Care aligned with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) to provide local patients with more advanced treatment options for rare and complex conditions, including transplantation. The experienced and trusted providers at AKC are now matched with the clinical research, advanced technology, and world-renowned specialists at Tampa General, one of the nation’s leading academic health systems. TGH Advanced Kidney Care connects more residents in the Palm Beaches and on the Treasure Coast to the world-class kidney care they need — along every step of their journey — from general nephrology to dialysis and transplant care.

Tampa General has long been a leader in kidney care and performed its first kidney transplant in 1974. Since then, its Kidney Transplant Center (one of five centers in TGH’s Transplant Institute) has performed more than 5,300 kidney transplants, earning Tampa General the rank of No. 3 in the nation by volume. Tampa General also has the No. 1 living donor kidney transplant program in the state for three consecutive years.

If a patient in Palm Beach County or Martin County needs advanced care at TGH, our Health Ambassadors will handle all the details, providing help making an appointment with a specialist, scheduling a test, or preparing for surgery and/or an inpatient stay in Tampa. Our goal is to reduce your stress so you can focus on what matters most. Visit the TGH Transplant Institute for more information.
