In order to provide the best pediatric care, Tampa General Hospital has partnered with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Together, we are able to increase access to pediatric general surgery while providing life-saving care for even the most complex and rarest conditions.

The medical staff at the Muma Children's Hospital at TGH is comprised of pediatric specialists and subspecialists available in only a few hospitals statewide. Likewise, our multidisciplinary team extends throughout the Tampa General Hospital ecosystem, with a variety of highly trained specialists available should their expertise be needed to treat your child.

Accredited and Certified

Tampa General Hospital’s Level I trauma center for adults and children is the first and only program in Florida to achieve verification from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for the quality of its trauma care. Specialists, including pediatric surgeons and pediatric neurosurgeons, provide the highest level of trauma care for children.

Tampa General’s regional burn center is one of just four in Florida, and the first burn center in the state to earn verification by the American Burn Association/American College of Surgeons. Our burn program also has received disease-specific certification from The Joint Commission.
