Financial Aid Programs (charity and discounted)
Tampa General Hospital provides the necessary medical care, regardless of the patient's ability to pay for services. We participate in all available government sponsored programs to help patients pay for health care services. Patients admitted to the hospital who are uninsured or underinsured may qualify for financial aid or charity service. Uninsured patients are given this guide and an estimate of expenses, upon request, prior to admission to the hospital. (Florida Statutes Section 395.301 (7) & (8)).
Qualification for aid is based on the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. Our Financial Counseling staff is available to assist patients during the qualification process. The following guidelines are used to determine the value of the help a patient receives. A patient's assets and medical expenses are taken into consideration in determining the level of support. Patients should submit information to financial advisors at Tampa General Hospital in order to determine their eligibility for financial aid or charity services.
