TGH President and CEO among nonprofit hospital and health system CEOs to know

Tampa FL (Jan. 11, 2018) – Tampa General Hospital President and CEO John Couris was named to Becker’s Healthcare list of “183 nonprofit hospital and health system CEOs to know-2017.” 

Couris, who formerly served as president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center, joined TGH in August. He is the only hospital or health system CEO in Tampa Bay to make the list.

Becker’s Healthcare is a leading source of business and legal information for healthcare executives. 

Those on the list “lead some of the largest and most successful nonprofit healthcare organizations in the country,” the national publication noted.

Before arriving at TGH in August, Couris served as president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. Becker’s noted that during Couris’ time at Jupiter, he was responsible for “forging major partnerships with notable providers such as Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, and established a $300 million fundraising campaign for critically needed medical services at the facility.”
