National Chocolate Chip Day – the healthy way

Yup, we love chocolate chips too.

And, if you care about healthy recipes, you’ve probably heard people touting the possible health benefits of chocolate.

While chocolate may have some health benefits, those are often lost in recipes that pair chocolate with hefty helpings of sugar and fat.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Thanks to our dietitians / recipe gurus Jamie Vespa and Christina Goddard, we’ve assembled some recipes with less of chocolate’s bad friends, sugar and fat. Instead, these recipes get moistness from healthier sources, such as bananas and almond butter, and pack more nutritional punch with healthy veggies, such as zucchini and beets:
