TAMPA, Fla. (June 18, 2019) - Tampa General Hospital has received the top award in the “Best Hospital” category in the Tampa Bay Times first-ever “Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards” for 2019.
More than 87,000 votes were cast in the newspaper’s contest, which selected winners in 150 categories. Tampa General received the Gold Award.
The newspaper published the complete list online and in the Sunday, June 16, print edition.
This is the latest among several accolades for Tampa General Hospital, including:
- U.S. News & World Report ranks TGH as the #1 hospital in Tampa Bay, with national ranking in six specialties.
- Newsweek recently named TGH to its “World’s Best Hospitals” list.
- Becker’s Healthcare, a leading source of business and legal information for healthcare executives, recently named TGH as one of the 100 Great Hospitals in America for 2019 – the sixth year in a row for this distinction.
