Community Health Needs Assessment

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is a report based on epidemiological, qualitative and comparative methods that assesses the health issues in a hospital organization’s community and that community’s access to services related to those issues. Not-for-profit hospital organizations are required to conduct a CHNA once every three years by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
