Medical Coverage - Employees can choose between two levels of health coverage that begins the first day of
the month following 60 days of employment. Employee contributions are based on the plan option selected
and budgeted work hours.
Vision - TGH offers comprehensive coverage for eye exams, eye glasses or contacts, LASIK discounts
and much more. Employee contributions are based on the plan option selected.
Dental Coverage - There are three dental benefits options to choose from. Employee contributions are based
on plan selection.
Life Insurance - TGH provides two times your annual salary. Additional insurance may be purchased up to
four times your annual base salary. Maximum coverage is $1,000,000 and employee contributions depend on the
plan selected.
Dependent Life - Employees choose from four option levels for spouse/children.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment - $50,000; $100,000; or $200,000 level plans are available for purchase.
Voluntary Products - Choice of Universal Life, Critical Illness, Longterm, and/or Pet Insurance.
Employee Health Services (EHS) offers an on-site Wellness Center and Fitness room for TGH employees. EHS has a wellness coordinator and staff to provide employees with programs such as weight management, nutrition, preventive health, cholesterol counseling, aerobics and exercise classes, and more. EHS has a Fitness Room available to TGH employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a nominal annual fee.
KIDCare is a daytime care center for children who must stay home because they are too sick to attend school or daycare. Space is limited and cost is based on a sliding scale rate. KIDCare accepts children who have received their first set of immunizations up to age 15. We do not permit children with communicable diseases, undiagnosed rashes or temperatures of 102 degrees or more, unless previously seen by a physician. Organizational Development (OD)
On the TGH campus, Organizational Development (OD) provides comprehensive education programs with an emphasis on high quality customer service to promote clinical and professional excellence. In addition to offering live presentations, OD provides convenient self-study modules, blended learning products, and access to nationally broadcast audio and video teleconferences that provide nursing contact hours.
Tuition Payment and Skills Enhancement Reimbursement Program
Tampa General Hospital recognizes that education is the foundation for superior performance. TGH provides tuition assistance of $4,000 per year for all regular full-time employees up to a lifetime maximum of $16,000, on a pre-paid basis (prorated for part-time). In addition, up to $1,500 per year is available for other skills enhancement or certification training associated with the job being performed.
As a teaching hospital, TGH has the resources and expertise to offer a wide variety of education programs to advance your skills. And, when you're ready for more learning opportunities, on-site classes range from leadership/management, computer software, human resources, and preceptor workshops.
