The TGH Foundation’s 15th Annual Moments in Time Gala, “State Fair,” chaired by McIver Berner and Catherine Christie, will be held downtown on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Tampa. We are pleased to announce that Skanska USA will return as the presenting sponsor. The Gala benefits Tampa General Hospital’s Fund for the Future, helping TGH achieve its vision of being the leading medical center in West Central Florida. Contributions ensure that our dedicated physicians and patient care staff have all the necessary tools to provide excellent medical care and to advance teaching, research and service in our community. 14th Annual Moments in Time Gala
The 14th Annual TGH Foundation Moments In Time Gala was held on May 7, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Tampa. Guests experienced Some Enchanted Evening and celebrated the timeless romance of the South Pacific. Over 400 guests dressed in tropical attire were whisked away to a distant land where love bloomed when cultures collided. Members of Opera Tampa mingled with the audience and performed songs from the musical “South Pacific.” Guests were offered a Blue Hawaiian cocktail from the Tiki Bar built by Skanska and Chef Kimo Akana prepared Spam musubi, an island staple. Also served was ahi poke, mahi mahi, suckling pig, shrimp and chicken curry, lomi lomi salmon and fresh pineapple.
Mayor Bob Buckhorn announced the winners of this year’s Silent Auction and County Commissioner, Sandy Murman assisted him by drawing the winning ticket for this year’s Chance Drawing. This year’s $10,000 winner was Dr. Thomas Freeman.
Under the guidance of our Chairs, Dr. and Mrs. Harry van Loveren, this year’s gala raised over $225,000 in net proceeds for Tampa General Hospital’s Fund for the Future. This fund helps TGH achieve its vision of being the leading medical center in West Central Florida. Contributions ensure that our dedicated physicians and patient care staff have all the necessary tools to provide excellent medical care and to advance teaching, research and service in our community.
